CCI is an equal partner in a
four party joint venture that delivered a proposal to design, build and
operate a 25,000 tonne per year organics processing facility to support
the needs of the City of Toronto. The facility will be owned by the City
and the core processing technology is the patented BTA-Process. The
facility is located at the City’s Dufferin Works Yard.
The facility accepted its first
organic waste in September 2002. The waste is curbside collected, Source
Separated Organics derived from the successful Green Bin Program that
the City has implemented in both the residential and commercial sectors.
